Interactive Music Box for Autistic Children

An ESP32 experiment in reading emotional cues from interaction

An early hardware and generative-music exploration that observes interaction with a music box and tests whether limited emotional cues can become sound feedback understandable to people nearby.

Current question

Some emotions are difficult to express directly through language. The project explores whether interaction with a music box can offer limited, interpretable cues and produce related musical feedback for people nearby.

Early prototype

This remains an early ESP32-based tangible-interaction and software prototype. Emotion analysis and generated music are still hypotheses under evaluation.

Next step

The next stage will identify useful interaction signals, complete a first music-mapping prototype, and design tests that do not collect a child’s identity.
