Shopping Instruction for Children

Situated shopping practice for autistic children

Currency recognition, payment simulation, exchange, and shopping practice are arranged as gradual scenarios for rehearsing independent-living skills in a repeatable, low-pressure environment.

Use context

Shopping combines currency recognition, price comprehension, payment choice, and communication. For children who benefit from structured support, entering the real situation all at once can create unnecessary cognitive pressure.

Learning path

The site separates banknote and coin recognition, cash and digital payment simulation, currency exchange, and shopping practice. Speech guidance, guide characters, and a progressive course structure reduce the cost of understanding each step.

Completed work

I was responsible for full-stack implementation and testing and produced a complete interaction demonstration. The current version covers currency recognition, two payment simulations, exchange exercises, and shopping practice without asking for a child’s identity.
